Innovia, the community foundation serving Eastern Washington and North Idaho, is inviting community members to participate in supporting 300 grant requests totaling more than $6 million from local nonprofit organizations. The Foundation currently has $1 million available to award later this spring.
“Innovia Foundation is about community giving to community and our new regional funds give people the opportunity to play an important role in our work to support vibrant and sustainable communities,” said Innovia CEO Shelly O’Quinn. “Our current grant round has revealed significant needs and opportunities in local communities, and we invite community members to join in supporting these requests.”
To encourage community participation, the Foundation recently established four new funds that are geographically restricted to support requests from local regions within the Foundation’s 20-county service area in Eastern Washington and North Idaho.

Grant applications are currently under review by Innovia staff and volunteer grant reviewers from communities throughout the region. Any donations made prior to May 11 will support the current round of grant requests.
“With a 20-county region that spans two states and almost 40,000 square miles, we know we can’t do this work alone,” O’Quinn said. “We are grateful to our volunteer grant reviewers who help us better understand local needs, priorities and opportunities, and we hope other community members will consider joining in this work by supporting a local grantmaking fund.”
