Northwest Public Broadcasting is bringing the StoryCorps Mobile Tour to the Lewis-Clark Valley, thanks in part to a sponsorship from Innovia Foundation.

July 8-August 7, 2020

“StoryCorps’ mission is to preserve and share humanity’s stories in order to build connections between people and create a more just and compassionate world. We do this to remind one another of our shared humanity, to strengthen and build the connections between people, to teach the value of listening, and to weave into the fabric of our culture the understanding that everyone’s story matters. At the same time, we are creating an invaluable archive for future generations.”

“We are honored to sponsor the StoryCorps Mobile Tour and lift up the voices of those who live in the greater Lewiston and Clarkston region,” said Innovia Foundation CEO Shelly O’Quinn. “Every day, we encounter local residents whose stories deserve to be shared and celebrated. As the community foundation for Eastern Washington and North Idaho, Innovia is committed to elevating and advancing the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of community members across our region. We are thankful for this partnership with Northwest Public Broadcasting.”

Now in its 15th anniversary year, the StoryCorps Mobile Tour has facilitated thousands of meaningful conversations between people who know and care about one another. To date, these face-to-face conversations have taken place in its MobileBooth: an Airstream trailer outfitted with a recording studio. For the first time, to respond to the need for social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, StoryCorps is launching a Virtual Mobile Tour to provide the opportunity for Lewiston, Idaho and Clarkston, Washington residents to participate in the StoryCorps experience online.

StoryCorps was started in Grand Central Terminal in 2003. Since then, more than half a million people have recorded their stories. Learn more about StoryCorps:
