We know that privacy is important to you. Protecting your privacy is a top priority for Innovia Foundation. We have developed the following privacy statement to assure you that we have taken prudent measures to safeguard your personal information.

Our core privacy principles

  • We do not sell, rent or loan your information to third parties.
  • We do not give your personally identifiable information to advertisers.
  • We let you select how you prefer to be contacted by us when you make your contribution to your community foundation.
  • We use safe, secure encryption technology to protect your personally identifiable information.
  • We have no tolerance for spam (unsolicited, commercial e-mail).
  • We protect the absolute confidentiality of all our constituencies.
  • Innovia Foundation is committed to maintaining the trust you have placed in us.

Privacy Policy in Detail

This Privacy Statement discloses to the Foundation’s constituencies our practices regarding the collection and disclosure of information considered to be “nonpublic personal information.” Please refer to the definitions at the end of this disclosure for a definition of nonpublic information.

Because certain information about you, your organization and your charitable interests is necessary to serve you online, we obtain nonpublic personal information about you from information you provide to the Foundation during gift transactions, grant recommendations and related forms, and other transactions in which you participate.

In order to administer your activities with the Foundation, we may provide some or all of the nonpublic personal information to independent contractors and service providers but only for the purposes of administering the services you authorize. Our agreements with these service providers contain confidentiality provisions and restrictions on the use of this information for any other purposes. We may also disclose certain information as required under applicable law, for example, to government.

Internal Revenue Service. We do not disclose nonpublic personal information about you to anyone for the purpose of marketing or soliciting products or services.

Access to nonpublic personal information about you or your activities with the Foundation is restricted to Foundation staff, Board of Directors and/or Board Committees and independent contractors or service providers who need to have access to that information to provide service or administration. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.

The practices contained in this disclosure are subject to change, but we will communicate any material changes to you when required by applicable laws.

Web site and use of cookies

When visiting our Web site, the Foundation receives standard tracking data; however, no personal information is collected during the tracking process. Standard tracking includes Internet Provider (IP) addresses, pages visited, the length of time spent on our site and any files downloaded.

Tracking is accomplished by the use of “cookies” the Foundation’s Web site uses. These cookies do not capture your individual e-mail address or any personally indentifiable information, but do contain an encoded session identification number. These cookies simply assist your use of the site. The Foundation’s Web site may set cookies when you register or when you use the site and may do so without notice or permission from you or any third party.

As a service to our constituency, the Foundation provides links from our Web site to external Web sites. Third party Web sites which are accessible through the Foundation’s Web site via links, or “click-throughs,” may also use cookies, for which the Foundation can have no knowledge and can assume no responsibility. The Foundation includes these external sites for your convenience and because of their usefulness. We believe the referred organizations to be credible and expect the site administrators will follow standard and ethical practices in tracking visitors; however, the Foundation cannot guarantee or make any representations whatsoever concerning the content or privacy of those sites. Furthermore, the Foundation cannot be responsible for the information found on these sites or the security of the sites. We encourage you to review privacy policies on any site you visit before you provide them with personal information.


If at any time you wish to stop receiving Innovia Foundation’s electronic newsletters or other communications, or to be removed from our email list, you may unsubscribe from that list as explained in each message. Innovia Foundation will not give your email addresses to other organizations; however, we may occasionally send you mailings regarding events, products or services by reputable third parties if we think they may be of interest to you. In such circumstances, we do not provide the organization with your information, but send the mailing ourselves.

Security of credit card or other financial information

The Foundation uses carefully selected service providers to process credit card transactions on our behalf. When you provide credit card information through our Web site, your information goes directly from your computer to a server operated by our service provider. That service provider uses your credit card information only to process your transaction and is bound by contract to treat all of your personal information you provide as confidential when you complete a transaction (so that we know, for example, who has made a contribution and how to contact them), for your security, our service providers only share the last four digits of your credit card number with us.

When you provide the Foundation with your full credit card information directly by mail, our practice is to process your gift and unless you have requested multiple future gifts using the same credit card, upon completion of the transaction, we redact all but the final four digits of the credit card number before the information is stored in secured files by our finance department.


Public Information – In an effort to meet legal requirements and regulatory expectations of disclosure regarding public support, unless you have specifically requested anonymity in writing, the Foundation may list the names of fund founders and certain donors to the Foundation (i.e., donors who support the Partnership Fund, donors who reach specific benchmarks in their giving and donors who have arranged future gifts or planned gifts.) Such listings may be found in our annual reception program, annual report and on our Web site. The report, viewable on the Foundation’s Web site is displayed in a type of picture file that does not allow your name to be captured by search engines. If you have requested anonymity, your gift is listed as anonymous. Names may be listed in broad categories of giving levels.

Nonpublic Information – Nonpublic information would include your personal contact information, such as your home mailing address, telephone numbers and e-mail address. It also includes your banking or credit card information as well as brokerage or retirement account information.

Cookies – Cookies are small pieces of data that are stored by a user’s Web browser on the hard drive of a computer. Cookies are used to “remember” what information a user accesses on one Web page to simplify subsequent interactions with that Web site by the same user, or can use that information to streamline the user’s transactions on related Web sites. Contrary to reports about cookies and online privacy, cookies do not contain viruses and most cannot reveal any personally identifiable information about you unless you willingly provide it as a user on a site.
