William A. Crosetto – or Bill, as his friends called him – knew he wanted to improve the way we live in the Inland Northwest. Since he partnered with Innovia Foundation, his generosity is doing just that, creating a legacy for the quiet rancher from the farming community of Othello.
Although Bill passed away earlier this year, his $6.1 million estate gift to the William A. Crosetto Charitable Foundation managed through Innovia Foundation ensures that his legacy will live on and improve the lives and wellbeing of many people in numerous ways.
Bill’s successful ranching career began in 1967 in Othello, and upon his retirement, he discovered a passion for philanthropy, especially in the areas of health, rural community and wildlife – arenas that each affect our quality of life here in the Inland Northwest and in which Innovia Foundation is deeply involved.
Bill’s donations will support medical residencies for rural communities and also establish a mobile primary care clinic through the Washington State University medical school. In addition, a generous gift to the Chelan-Douglas Land Trust enabled the organization to purchase land for the 1000-acre Sage Grouse preserve on Spiva Butte.
“These funds will have a significant and lasting impact on the health of those in rural communities for generations to come,” said Shelly O’Quinn, CEO of Innovia Foundation.
Now, within the preserve, visitors can enjoy public hiking trails and the serenity of Lake Crosetto, named in honor of Bill – a man who wanted to improve the way his neighbors live.
