Spokane, WA, May 1, 2025 – Innovia Foundation is pleased to open its sixth annual photo contest under the theme: Make More Possible. Photographers are invited to submit images that celebrate the unique identity and spirit of their hometowns, neighborhoods, and communities. 

“Every photo tells a story, and this contest allows our communities to share those stories with us,” says Shelly O’Quinn, CEO of Innovia Foundation. “Whether it’s a moment of joy, creativity, or connection, this contest celebrates the people, activities, and organizations that make more possible for all who live, work and play here.” 

Open to photographers of all ages and experiences and free to enter, the contest includes the following categories:  

• People 
• Landscape 
• Wildlife
• Education
• Arts & Culture
• Community 
• Nonprofit Mission in Action
• Videos
• Youth Photography (Open to photographers aged 0-17) 

Photos must be taken within Innovia Foundation’s 20-county service area in Eastern Washington and North Idaho and children under the age of 18 are required to have a guardian’s permission to enter. Limited to five photographs per entrant, submissions are due by Wednesday, July 16. 

For the first time, Innovia will be accepting video entries to the contest. Video clips must be horizontal and at least 10 seconds, and can capture people, landmarks, events, and more. 

To support our local nonprofits and strengthen their impact in our communities, the overall first-place photographer will receive a $1,000 grant awarded to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization of their choice, along with a canvas print of their photo and a feature on Innovia’s website. Each category winner will also receive a $200 grant awarded to a nonprofit of choice, a canvas print, and website feature.
