For anyone born and raised in Oakesdale, the rolling hills, rich history and close-knit community leave an impression. For Larry Stanley, this is no exception.
Son of a beloved Oakesdale barber, Larry absorbed his father’s work ethic and love for the community. When his father was hospitalized, the town organized a fundraiser dance to help pay the bills. Scores of residents purchased tickets, even if they could not attend. Now retired, Larry is giving back through the Oakesdale Community Endowed Fund with a $20,000 matching gift challenge.
As contributions pour in from current and former residents, Oakesdale is once again joining together around a common cause. The fund will forever support what matters to the community: revitalizing downtown, investing in local schools, and preserving and nurturing what makes Oakesdale so special.
