Too many young people across our region still believe education beyond high school is out of reach or unnecessary. LaunchNW is changing that — opening doors to scholarships, mentorship, and real-world support. Whether it’s a trade program or a two- or four-year degree, we must equip our youth to build strong, stable futures and contribute to a thriving regional workforce. LaunchNW is already producing measurable results in Spokane, Garfield, and Columbia Counties — and with continued investment, this momentum can extend across Eastern Washington and North Idaho.

Our Goal
Thanks to visionary lead donors, nearly $84 million has been committed to LaunchNW. This extraordinary generosity transformed a bold idea into a powerful reality and brings us closer to the long-term goal of raising cash and endowed gifts totaling $150 million. Now, the next phase begins. To sustain and grow wraparound supports and Promise Scholarships until generous estate gifts are realized, we need to raise an additional $30 million in cash gift commitments. Just as important, this investment will continue to grow the LaunchNW Endowment Fund to sustain the initiative in perpetuity.
What Your Investment Does
- Multiply the number of students supported through mentoring, real‑life engagement, and financial aid navigation.
- Extend LaunchNW programs into regional communities most in need.
- Guarantee LaunchNW Promise Scholarships for thousands of students every year.
- Deliver a permanent economic boost, by preparing a skilled regional workforce to support existing businesses and attract new ones to the area.
“We need a talented, educated, skilled
workforce — much beyond what is
achievable through a high school
diploma — in order to support our
existing businesses and allow us to
attract new businesses that can bring
higher paying jobs to our region.”
JEFF PHILIPPSRosauers | Retired CEO
“We are all dependent on a
workforce pipeline. That doesn’t
come easily and it doesn’t come
organically. The LaunchNW
Scholarship gives hope to those
who may not think they could ever
go to college.”
SUSAN STACEYProvidence | CEO
“I saw the lack of kids going on
to secondary education and the
impact that would have on our
community for years to come.
I realized something had to be
done and LaunchNW was
the answer.”

“There's nothing better than seeing
a student or a young person all of
a sudden see potential. They’re like,
‘Wow, I really can do this.’ That’s
what education does and that’s what
I hope LaunchNW is going to do for
more of the kids in this region.”

“Ultimately, education —
and advanced education
— is something no one
can take away from you.
It helps you self-actualize,
figure out what it is you
really want to do with
your life.”

“I've done a lot of different things
in our community for 30 plus years.
And I knew this was something really,
really special. I knew it was something
that was going to truly change the
trajectory of our entire region.”

“When I work with kids, they just warm my heart. I wanted a career
that could make an impact on students and support them, especially
kids who don’t have the best home life.”
Karley TiegsEWU, Elementary and Special Education
“I’m a first-generation student. I’m setting a role model for my cousins
who, even though they’re interested in learning, just have less materials.
They want to learn. They want to keep going, pursue their education
even with the limited resources that they have, just because they see me
learning too.”
MOHAMMED “MO” SULIEMANWSU, Architecture and Interior Design
“College is expensive. Whitworth gave me a big scholarship, but
LaunchNW has given me money that tipped it down to a realistic
number — and that’s been so appreciated.
I truly want to say thank you for impacting me way more than I could
have ever imagined. LaunchNW has really added so much to my
gratefulness, my family’s gratefulness, financially being able to afford
such a good school.”
ALYNA ROSEWhitworth, Elementary Education
“Without LaunchNW and the people who helped me, I don’t think I’d be
where I am now. Community means, as a whole, people who are there
for you, to help you, and agree with the choices you make, but also help
you with those choices.”

“Without the LaunchNW Scholarship, I would have had to pay for my
first year of college out of pocket. I applied for almost every single
local scholarship that I was able to in my hometown. When I heard that
I got the LaunchNW Scholarship, I was pretty happy about it.”
