Located in the heart of downtown, the Coeur d’Alene Public Library opened in September 2007. It rapidly became a gathering place for the community. With spaces for quiet reading and group meetings, the library offers free computer access, author presentations and a diversity of programs to inform and entertain.
The library foundation board of directors partnered with Innovia Foundation to establish an agency endowment, ensuring that learning opportunities are available through the library well into the future. The library’s foundation board chose Innovia Foundation to manage this endowment because of Innovia Foundation’s investment strategies and expertise serving area nonprofit organizations.
“We were total novices at setting up and managing an endowment,” says Ruth Pratt, Ph.D., Coeur d’Alene Public Library Foundation executive director. “Our community foundation gave us the tools and confidence to plant the seeds for future growth, knowing that our donor bequests will be tended with care.”
