Canopy Village

Canopy Village, formerly Children’s Village, offers an array of services to assist struggling families across the Coeur d’Alene region. A trauma response safe haven, Canopy Village strives to restore trust and hope for those who experience abuse or neglect or are in crisis. Since the late 1980s, Canopy Village has served as a reliable resource for children and families needing shelter and at-risk youth in need of residential treatment programs.

In January 2024, the nonprofit opened the doors of a Family Support Center. The new 5,000 square foot facility provides preventative, wrap-around supports through partnerships with local nonprofit organizations and therapy, diversion and probation services.

Constructed in part to address increased behavioral health issues in youth, the new Center houses a Safe Teen Assessment Center supported by a grant from the Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections. Since opening, the Center has reached hundreds of families and youth, providing critical resources to help them attain stability. Last year, Innovia awarded the organization a $15,000 grant to support operations at the new facility. Through Canopy services, it’s not only children gaining access to vital health services. Entire families are engaged and empowered to succeed through supplemental educational materials designed for parents.

With the Family Support Center serving as an innovative solution to address the most pressing needs of local families, Canopy Village is making notable strides to offer more youth, children and families the opportunity to thrive.
