FUNDRAISING BASICS: HOW TO RAISE MONEY FOR YOUR ORGANIZATION

Does the thought of raising money make you tired? Or are you eager to dive into fundraising but unsure where to start? How to Raise Money for Your Mission is an approachable, practical overview of individual giving designed to build clarity, confidence, and momentum.

In this session, we’ll walk through the core elements of a strong individual giving program and explore how to engage your full team—staff, board members, and community partners—in joyfully raising money for your mission.

How to Raise Money for Your Mission strengthens your understanding of three building blocks of an effective fundraising strategy:

  • Make the case: Why should someone give to your organization? We’ll ground our conversation in purpose and share tools for crafting messages that tell your story to the people most likely to give.
  • Build a fundraising plan: Once you know why people should give, we’ll focus on what your organization will do to raise money. A strong fundraising plan brings together multiple approaches that are intentional, realistic, and aligned with your goals.
  • Engage your broader community: So many people care about your mission. We’ll explore how your key supporters can contribute to your fundraising efforts in ways that feel authentic and doable.

We will lay the groundwork for our class on fundraising events on April 14.
