Elsa Distelhorst, a self-described “community junkie,” lives and breathes community and volunteerism. As a child, Elsa watched her family celebrate diversity. Her grandfather integrated the first church in Boston, while her mother was the secretary for a local Rabbi who helped draw the community together, despite differences.
A long-time Spokane resident, Elsa has passed down a passion for social justice to her teen granddaughter, Ellie. Together, the pair established the Elsa C. Distelhorst and Elisabeth A. Daehlin Charitable Fund at Innovia to support charitable causes that help create a more just and sustainable community.
Through the fund, they hope to “be a part of the good in the world, contribute to critical community issues and help the world become a better place for everyone.”
