“I’m committed to being of service to others and to the community in which I work and live.”

Formerly a vice president at Whitworth University for 17 years, and now CEO of Spokane Teachers Credit Union since 2011, Tom Johnson understands the positive impact a strong nonprofit organization can have in a community.

“I’ve spent my entire career in the nonprofit realm,” Tom said. “Whether it’s through professional or personal activities, I’m committed to being of service to others and to the community in which I work and live.”

Tom and his wife Ruth Ann, a retired middle school teacher, established a donor-advised pass-through fund at Innovia Foundation. Through the fund, the couple plans to grow their assets so they can contribute more significantly in the future to their favorite causes – especially in the area of education.

“There are so many nonprofits in our community that have all kinds of worthy missions,” Tom said. “With this fund, we hope that in the future, we can continue to financially help some of these organizations fulfill those missions in a meaningful way.”
