Music, theater and dance all bring creativity, vibrancy and joy to people who live in our community and to those who travel from all around the region to experience the magic of live performance.
Since 2001, Inland Northwest Opera (INO), formerly Opera Coeur d’Alene, has enriched Spokane, Coeur d’Alene and surrounding areas with its productions. In September 2018, the nonprofit organization will produce two fully staged performances of Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro” at the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox in Spokane.
A Community Strategies grant from Innovia Foundation is helping make the two performances possible. Inland Northwest Opera will use the funds to pay singers, a music director and stage manager hired for the show. The organization is bringing in professional opera singers from across the nation for the lead roles. The production will also feature young singers from the children’s opera program.
“Our modern world is full of music and drama, but it is almost all experienced remotely through electronic media,” said John Jolley, president of Inland Northwest Opera. “Our production will be a unique live experience delivered by live singers and musicians on the stage performing in front of you.”
