Slavic Churches Network support basic needs of individuals and families facing pandemic-related hardships

Slavic Churches Network received a $15,000 COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund grant to support basic needs of individuals and families facing pandemic-related hardships in the Slavic community.

“With a $15,000 grant for our community, we were able to help over 100 households from 12 Slavic churches in the Spokane area,” said Vladimir Kronin of Pilgrim Slavic Church. “We helped people in different categories, such as: COVID-19 impacted, large families, families in need, single parents, elders and single individuals. This enabled us to cover a wide range of people in our community.”

Grant dollars were used to purchase food at Costco for distribution at 12 Slavic churches throughout Spokane County.

“With this food assistance, we were able to cover several groups in our Refugee/Immigrants community, including unemployed, sick, widowedlarge families with six or more children, elders and single poor individuals, all in great need of food,” said Alexander Kaprian, Senior Pastor, Doctor in Ministry, Slavic Baptist Church.
