Raised on a farm in the Palouse countryside, Dennis Dowling knew his life calling early on. “Growing up on a farm is a way of life. I’ve never wanted to do anything else,” he said. “Our parents taught us to work hard and be honest. These values helped all seven children succeed.”
Graduating from Rosalia High School and Spokane Community College, Dennis put his agricultural business degree to work managing the farm his great-grandfather started in 1904. Dennis continues to live and farm on the original homestead.
“For 36 years, my brother Dave and I farmed together. Dave was a kind, gentle man who passed in 2009,” said Dennis. This scholarship endowment resulted from the dedication to farming and love for agriculture that Dave modeled his entire life.
The Dowling Bros. Scholarship Fund will continue to benefit local high school graduates for years to come.
